This past winter I took some kittens they found at work. They were very young, maybe two weeks and 2 of them made it. Now I haven't had fleas here for years, used to have an active dog kennel but this past winter was so bad the nematodes that had been thriving to kill off the fleas died or were cut back. I still have 2 dogs that have never liked cats and they were the first signs that fleas have come back. So I started treating the dogs and the other day used a very small amount of flea spray on the kittens that was supposed to be for kittens. With in minutes they began to drool but are still active, eating and drinking just fine.
So no more flea spray. However what to do? I will be reseeding the nematodes to stop the fleas at the ground and will continue treating the dogs, one which is now tolerating the kittens, getting old. The best I can tell these kittens were born around the beginning of March. Owe my vet too much money and can't go there. They are just regular little purring machines. |
